True Lupus Stories
If you're in the mood for some very interesting stories this is the place for you. Because lupus is so complex I have started a collection of true stories as told by each individual. I cannot think of a better way for you to learn the various afflictions caused by this disease of many faces.
Listed Stories:
I met Rita through this site. She told me she had written her story. I asked if she would allow me to print it here. This is one worth reading!
Mary was very generous to offer her story. She hopes it will help ease some questions for those experiencing the same or similar symptoms. Mary has devoted more than her time to lupus awareness. She is an extraordinary woman whose love has touched and helped many. Over ten years ago she co-founded a 'home group' which rapidly grew in number. Realizing the need for support, Mary then joined the Board of Directors, as Treasurer, for The New Hampshire Chapter of The Lupus Foundation of America, organized their yearly symposiums, and spent many hours personally attending to the needs others. She has done more to promote lupus awareness than any person I know. Once again I thank you, Mary, for sharing a piece of yourself to help others!

This is an unusual story for this section because it is not told by a lupus patient. I wanted to include it here because the story was written out of love and compassion by a friend of a woman who has lupus. Not only is the author helping her friend but she is helping to promote lupus awareness for all.
Jackie has taken great courage to write her story. She is "new" to lupus only being diagnosed about a year now. She is going though a very difficult adjustment both with the disease and a helplessness feeling which is not uncommon with new lupus patients. Everything she has written has been experienced by others. If you are new to lupus this story may frighten you a bit. Rest assured that time, acceptance, and understanding of lupus will change her feelings.
Judy has not been diagnosed with lupus. She has however been suffering for some time with many symptoms. I guess we could say she is at that wall of anxiety that we all have been to - you know - the one of wondering what is wrong with you. I told Judy not to give up and continue to search for the answers. If you are in Judy's position wondering if you do or do not have lupus, or wondering just what the heck you do have, then please read her story if only to find out YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
The Dove of Peace flies from site to site, through as many countries as possible. Please help it make a line around the globe by taking it with you to your site, by giving it to someone for their site, by passing it on to another continent, So for peace there is no end
