Helpful Tips
Should you find you can not work then it is time to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance. Now, you have worked and paid into the insurance so you deserve to receive the benefits. Even if you are on a disability from your place of employment it is a good idea to start your application. This is a long process. The majority of people I know had been rejected three times and had to appear before a federal judge before finally receiving approval. You can contact Social Security to obtain necessary information and forms.
You will also need to find a lawyer who is familiar with lupus. They offer information and a list of legal professionals.
Be sure to contact the Lupus Foundation of America for the location of a support group in your area. They also offer information about lupus, research, government lobbying and membership.
